چکیده
Splenic artery aneurysms (SAA) are one of the common visceral aneurysms. However giant SAA have barely been reported. We discuss a case SAA, who had prior history caroli disease at stage secondary biliary cirrhosis for which he was candidate liver transplantation. The patient underwent open surgical repair. proximal and distal spenic were ligated from within aneurysm surgery completed with splenectomy. post operative period uneventful.

Giant splenic artery aneurysm rupture
Little exists on treatment for SAAs rupture which may require a fast bleeding control because of the hemodynamic instability and a large perisplenic/peritoneal hematoma. This case shows the use of endovascular clamping and midline laparotomy to perform the splenectomy because of the severe hypotension and the dimension of the lesion.

Background: Splenic artery aneurysms (SAA) are the most frequent visceral artery aneurysms. Large and symptomatic aneurysms have an increased risk for rupture and should be treated interventionally or surgically. Methods: We describe the case of a 44-year-old male patient with a possibly mycotic splenic artery aneurysm of approximately 12 cm in diameter. Results: As a result of a consensus in a...

متن کاملGiant splenic artery aneurysm, incidentally diagnosed.
Splenic artery aneurysm is a rare pathology, asymptomatic for a long time. It's in fact often revealed by its complications, such as the rupture and potentially fatal acute haemorrhage. It's incidentally discovered during instrumental exams, performed for other reasons, like the case of our woman, affected by ulcerating rectocolitis and suffering from renal colic pain, demonstrated. While surgi...
